Journey To The Tundra: Polar Bear Watching at Churchill

Arrive in Winnipeg and check in at your hotel. In the evening, you will meet your guide for a brief orientation.
Sat on the confluence of two rivers Winnipeg has been a stopping off point for travellers for over 6000 years.
Once a campground and meeting point for First Nations travellers, its historic Forks district remains a popular meeting spot that attracts visitors and locals alike. As well as a bustling array of markets, shops and restaurants there is also plenty of green space to enjoy.
Take a historic walking tour along, enjoy a boat ride or hire a bike to explore the riverbanks at leisure. In winter you can even take to the ice and skate one of the world’s longest trails!
Discover the Exchange District, a vibrant neighbourhood, whose tree lined streets feature over 150 heritage buildings. Many of these are now restaurants, galleries and hip boutique shops. In the summer months there are festivals and outdoor concerts at the Old Market Square such as Winnipeg Jazz Festival in June and the Winnipeg Fringe which takes place in July.
Across the river from the Forks you’ll find St Boniface, Winnipeg’s French Quarter. Here you can find cute cafes serving up delicious pastries, or dive into the collections at Saint Boniface Museum, the oldest building in Manitoba.

This morning you depart from Winnipeg on an early flight to the remote town of Churchill. After arriving in Churchill and being transferred to your hotel, you will enjoy a Churchill and area tour, a visit to the Parks Canada Visitor Centre and PBI House.
On day 3, you board an official Tundra Buggy® – a specially constructed vehicle that travels across the tundra to explore polar bear habitat. Enjoy a full-day Tundra Buggy® Adventure in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area – home of polar bears, arctic foxes, ptarmigan and other unique arctic wildlife. Wear comfortable, layered clothing. Each Tundra Buggy is heated and equipped with washroom facilities and an external viewing platform. Return back to town around 17:00, followed by an evening cultural presentation by a local resident.
On day 4 begin with a dog sledding excursion with a local musher. for a 1.5 km dog sled ride followed by a visit to the Itsanitaq Museum and PBI House.

The final day in Churchill enjoying the thrill of the Tundra Buggy®. Late afternoon you will be transferred to the Churchill airport for your return flight to Winnipeg. Spend a final night in Winnipeg before leaving tomorrow.
