Aurora Klondike Experience

Journey into the Yukon in search of the Aurora Klondike Experience. With a season that stretches from August to April, the Yukon is without doubt one of the best places in the world to view the natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights. Gaze in wonder as swirls of green and purple illuminate the sky above this winter wonderland. During this 5 night tour, enjoy Aurora Borealis viewing excursions in both Whitehorse, the Yukon's capital city, and the former Gold rush hub of Dawson City. In addition to the wonders of the northern lights, there will also be plenty of opportunity for more fun. Go dog sledding, take a Goldfields tour and a city tour of the historic Dawson City. As with all our fly-drive itineraries your Aurora Klondike Experience can be tailor-made to suit you. We can recommend a selection of hand picked accommodation based on your preferences. Itinerary
DAY 1 Whitehorse

Welcome to Whitehorse! At your hotel, your Winter Clothing Package will be waiting for you. Take the remainder of the day to explore the local sights and sounds of this frontier city. In the evening, your Northern Tales Travel Services guide will pick you up at your hotel to venture out under the nightscape to view the dancing waves of colours painted across the sky on your first Aurora Borealis / Northern Lights excursion.

DAY 2 Whitehorse

A day free at leisure in Whitehorse. Explore this northern city on your own or take an optional dog sledding tour. Enjoy an evening Aurora Borealis viewing excursion.

DAY 3 & 4 Dawson City

This morning, board your morning flight to Dawson City and transfer to your hotel. Over the next two days, your guide will take you on several guided tours, including a City and Goldfields Tour, a visit to Dawson City Museum, and a Dawson City Historic Walking Tour. In addition, each night will include a guided Northern Lights Viewing Tour.

DAY 5 Whitehorse

After a leisurely morning in Dawson City, catch your flight back to Whitehorse. The remainder of the day is free to either further explore the city, or enjoy the amenities of your hotel before leaving tomorrow.
