Itinerary
DAY 1 Arrive Halifax

Arrive Halifax and take a private transfer to your chosen hotel.

Welcome to Nova Scotia’s provincial capital. This attractive city is a bustling hub of art galleries, shops, museums, restaurants, sidewalk cafes and vibrant nightlife centred around the picturesque waterfront. Immerse yourself in Halifax’s rich history at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, and be sure to survey the city from the 18th-century Citadel National Historic Site. You can also visit a 200-year-old restored fishing village at Fisherman’s Cove and discover the stories of over a million immigrants who landed in Halifax at Pier 21. Venture to McNabs Island, located at the mouth of the Halifax Harbour, for secluded trails, a beautiful beach, and a historic fort.

 

DAY 2 Historic Halifax City Tour By Foot

Discover the historic and modern sites that make Halifax an amazing city. Your guide will share their knowledge of the historical, cultural, political and military significance of Halifax’s landmarks. You’ll hear of the tragedies and triumphs that have shaped the character of Haligonians over the centuries, and learn why the city is said to be one of the best places to live in Canada.

With your local guide your tour begins on the waterfront at the Pier 21 National Immigration Museum. From here pass through Peace and Friendship Park and make your way to the Old Burial Ground, Halifax’s oldest cemetery dating back to 1749. Continue to Spring Garden Road where Victorian settings meet award-winning modern architecture with Halifax’s new Central Library. At the top of Spring Garden Road is the Halifax Public Garden – the oldest Victorian-style gardens in Canada. From the Public Gardens make your way up Citadel Hill, the major landmark of the city. A stone fortress looming over downtown from a grassy height where a view from atop will give you an impressive overall picture of the surroundings. From Citadel Hill make your way downhill passing the Old Town Clock, City Hall through the Grand Parade, past Province House to the Harbor-front and the end location of the tour.

The rest of your day is at leisure to enjoy this city.

DAY 3 Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg day tour

Your tour starts in downtown Halifax with a 1.5 hour (approximate) drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg, considered the finest known example of a British Colonial Era settlement in North America. Settled in 1753, Lunenburg is the second oldest British colony in Canada and home to the world famous tall ship, Bluenose II. Strolling through the streets of Lunenburg will take you back to an era long ago, when most of the inhabitants made their livelihood from the bounty of the sea and home to some of the finest seafood in Canada. See for yourself why this small charming town is one of the most endearing of its kind. You’ll have 2:30 hrs to explore the Lunenburg at your leisure and have lunch at one of the town’s seafood restaurants.

After you leave Lunenburg, you’ll depart for Peggy’s Cove, home to one of the most famous light houses in the world and Nova Scotia’s most iconic landmarks. The scenic drive to Peggy’s Cove will take approximately 1:30 hrs. The rugged and captivating landscape is awe inspiring for those who have never witnessed the power of the sea, as waves crash along the coastline.

You’ll have approximately 1 hr. to explore the cove’s fishing village, browse some of the area’s small quaint shops before returning to Halifax.

DAY 4 Take the overnight train to Quebec
Drive: 20 hours

Check out of your hotel and walk to the station for your train journey from Halifax to Quebec (Sainte Foy). We can arrange a transfer if required.

Your train journey from Halifax to Quebec is a scenic and enjoyable ride through the heart of Eastern Canada. You’ll pass through coastal stretches, dense forests, and quiet rural towns, with rivers and rolling hills unfolding outside your window. It’s a relaxed and comfortable way to take in the region’s natural beauty and changing landscapes.

Staying in a comfortable sleeper cabin you will enjoy lunch and dinner on board before departing early the following morning.

DAY 5 Arrive Quebec

Arrive Sainte Foy and then take a private transfer to Quebec.

Quebec City is the only walled city in North America and offers a host of historic sites and attractions. During the summer, enjoy strolling along the narrow cobblestone streets in the Old City, with its cafes and street performers. For antiques or handicrafts visit the Rue Saint-Paul and the Old Port area which is rich in maritime history or explore the Citadel, where you might catch Canadian troops staging a military ceremony. An easy day trip from Quebec City is to the Sainte Anne Canyon. The exploration of the gorge is done by viewpoints as well as three suspension bridges, the first one is at the head of the fall and the second at 60 metres above the river and the third is at the bottom of the canyon.

DAY 6 Quebec/Montmorency Falls day trip

Escape to the beautiful countryside around Québec City on this half-day adventure to Montmorency Falls and the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré. Choose from a morning or afternoon tour experience, then explore the spectacular landscape just outside Québec City by coach. Along the way, visit popular attractions like the Chocolaterie de l’Île d’Orléans, Albert Gilles Copper Art & Museum, and more.

 

DAY 7 Montreal
Drive: 3.5 hours

Take the train to Montreal. Upon arrival take a transfer to your chosen accommodation. The rest of your day is at leisure to explore.

Montreal is the largest French speaking city in North America with a style and culture all of its own. In the summer, enjoy its many lively festivals and street performers, the charming Old City and its Parisian-style streets are a wonderful place to wander. Downtown Montreal has fabulous shopping on Sainte Catherine Street and Sherbrooke Street. Little Italy is also worth a visit. Also make sure to visit Mt. Royal, which is now a magnificent park.

DAY 8 Full-Day small-group Montreal tour

See the main attractions of Montreal in one day on this comprehensive guided tour. Visit the St. Joseph’s Oratory and Mount Royal Park to take in scenic views. Cross the Jacques Cartier Bridge to Jean Drapeau Park on Saint Helen’s Island. In Old Montreal, take a picture of the prestigious Notre-Dame Basilica, and explore neighbourhoods such as Mile End, Little Italy, and Le Plateau.

 

DAY 9 Ottawa
Drive: 2.5 hours

Take the Regional train to Ottawa.

On a arrival a private transfer to your hotel – you can then spend the afternoon at leisure.

Home to grand landmarks like Parliament Hill, world-class museums, and scenic canals, the city has a welcoming, walkable feel with a distinctly European flair. Whether you’re exploring the impressive National Gallery, strolling along the Rideau Canal, or enjoying afternoon tea at a heritage hotel, Ottawa combines the elegance of a capital with the warmth of a smaller city — making it a must-see stop on any Canadian adventure.

DAY 10 Sightseeing tour of Ottawa

Experience Ottawa’s must-see top attractions from land and water. The tour includes a walking tour of Parliament Hill, a relaxing Rideau Canal Cruise*, and a narrated drive passing iconic attractions such as the Supreme Court and Canadian Museum of History. It also provides exclusive opportunities to see sights such as the Prime Minister’s Residence and the Governor General’s Residence.

After this 4 hour tour you can spend the day at leisure.

* The Museum of History tour will replace the Rideau Canal Cruise in early May and late Oct (exact dates may vary annually due to weather).

DAY 11 Take the train to Toronto
Drive: 4.5 hours

Arrive Toronto and take a private transfer to your chosen hotel.

Canada’s largest city is an exciting mix of cultures and tastes. Toronto is truly cosmopolitan, with its first-class shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Visitors are always amazed at the abundance of parks and gardens and its soaring modern architecture contrasted by beautifully restored Victorian gables and spires.  Toronto’s most distinctive building is the CN Tower – which was the world’s tallest building when completed in 1976. Fearless visitors can try The EdgeWalk – the world’s highest full circle hands-free walk on a 1.5 m wide ledge encircling the top of the Tower’s main pod, 356m (116 storeys) above the ground. Visit the Eaton Centre, spend some time in Chinatown or stroll, browse and enjoy a coffee whilst watching the world go by in Yorkville.

DAY 12 Toronto and the CN Tower

Today you have a full day to explore Toronto. Your holiday includes a hop on hop off pass as well as entry to the CN Tower.

Let the friendly and knowledgeable tour guides educate you on the fun facts and history of Toronto as they take you through the city with stops at / near all major hotels in the downtown area.

Standing 553.33 metres tall, the CN Tower is a symbol of Toronto and Canada . Not only does it offer sweeping panoramic views but also a world of entertainment.

DAY 13 Niagara Falls
Drive: 2 hours

Take a train to Niagara Falls today.

Afternoon at leisure.

Canadian Niagara Falls is a must-visit for its breathtaking views and exciting experiences. Watch the powerful Horseshoe Falls cascade down from several observation points, take a thrilling boat ride right to the base of the falls, or explore the tunnels behind the rushing water. By night, the falls are beautifully illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere. There’s also plenty to do nearby, from walking along the scenic Niagara Parkway to visiting attractions like the Butterfly Conservatory or the vibrant Clifton Hill entertainment district.

DAY 14 Niagara Falls and Niagara on The Lake

The Niagara Falls full day tour is an insightful comprehensive guided tour that lets you visit an experience the Upper Rapids, Niagara Horseshoe Falls (on the Canadian side), the American Falls, the Falls up close and personal from Table Rock, and an enchanting Cruise aboard The Niagara City Cruise Boat*. After this unforgettable cruise, you will then enjoy a buffet lunch with a view of the majestic Niagara Falls at the Fallsview Restaurant atop the Sheraton Hotel. Following lunch, we will take you on a journey through the scenic Niagara Parkway with stops at Floral Clock, Botanical Gardens, Queenston Heights, Niagara Gorge, and free time in the historic quaint town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

DAY 15 Departure

Check out of your hotel and spend the morning at leisure.

This afternoon take a private transfer to Toronto airport for your flight to the UK or onwards destination.
