Leaving the city of Denver, today you will drive through the mountains of Colorado, past the winter play-resorts of Breckenridge, Keystone and Vail.  You will pass through the beautiful Glenwood Canyon and continue to follow the Colorado River to the "west slope" where you will spend two nights in the heart of Grand Junction at the Hawthorne Suites Lodge.

Day 5  -  Grand Junction

Day 6 – Moab (145 miles)

Today you travel just a short distance into Utah, again following the Colorado River as it journeys into the more desert terrain.  You will spend the next three nights at one of the top resort lodges in Utah--the Sorrell River Ranch, fast becoming a must stop for many travellers looking for the best.  Ideally situated along the Colorado River, the ranch is a perfect place to both relax and enjoy some of the many optional activities such as river rafting, horseback riding, fishing, jeep touring, jetboat touring and much more.

Travel to the corner of Colorado today to visit the Mesa Verde National Park.  This park features the many cliff dwellings of the Anasazi Indians built between 800-1000 years ago and was the first national park dedicated to the works of man--and not just nature.  You will then proceed on to Durango for a two night stay in the Historic Strater Hotel located along the main street of this former mining community.

Day 12  -  Durango
