63 Ranch Holidays, Montana

The 63 Ranch dates from 1863 and is now a National Historic Site.   The family has owned and operated The 63 continuously since 1929.  The ranch sits at 5600 feet altitude below Elephant Head Mountain, just 50 miles north of Yellowstone National Park and 12 miles from Livingston.

The various cabins are tucked among aspen and pine, rustic log or frame construction with modern bathrooms (tub and shower),  plenty of hot water and firm twin & double beds. Everyone is made most welcome here whether you are on your own or as a family. With the 21 day menu you would have to stay four weeks to repeat meals. They can accommodate all manner of dietary requirements and take pride in serving tender, lean grass fed beef from their own herd.

As The 63 is a real western working dude ranch, guests often join cowboys in moving cattle and learning to lasso. Horses outnumber  guests two to one. There are mounts for children through to the most expert of equestrians. You can ride morning and afternoon six days a week. There are full day rides weekly  and there are over 100 miles of trails.

When the riding is done there is  volleyball, softball, horseshoes, table soccer, billiards, square dancing, nature walks, cards, games or reading from the library.   This ranch is home to elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, moose, mountain lion and bear. This is a Guest Ranch with a good deal of history surrounding it plus it's set in stunning surroundings. The owners are from Pioneer stock and are charming people.

Transfers charges from Bozeman are paid locally and cost about $75 per car. There will not be a prepayable service charge at this ranch, this will be left to your discretion between you and the ranch staff.
